If you want beautiful gardens without leaving the city, Fitzroy Gardens is one of our favourite Melbourne proposal locations.

Think huge elm trees, gorgeous pathways, fountains and plenty of beautiful little pockets that can feel surprisingly private — plus you're only minutes from Melbourne CBD.

One of the biggest bonuses of Fitzroy Gardens is the backup options. Melbourne weather can be unpredictable, and the gardens have beautiful historic rotundas that can work as a covered alternative if the weather isn't on our side. They also look gorgeous styled with florals and candles, so Plan B definitely doesn't have to feel like Plan B.

You can keep things simple with a photographer hiding nearby, or have us create a full proposal setup ready for you to walk into.

And once they’ve said yes, there are so many beautiful spots around the gardens for photos before heading into the city for dinner, drinks or a hotel stay.

3. Carlton Gardens

Carlton Gardens is another beautiful option right on the edge of Melbourne CBD — especially if you want something that feels a little more classic and European.

With the Royal Exhibition Building, fountains, tree-lined paths and manicured gardens as your backdrop, there are so many beautiful spots to choose from.
