Four Mile Beach
Four Mile Beach is one of the most iconic proposal locations in Port Douglas, and for good reason. Stretching along the coastline with soft golden sand, swaying palms and beautiful views across the Coral Sea, it offers a naturally romantic setting for asking the big question.
The long stretch of beach means there are plenty of opportunities to find a quieter, more intimate spot for your proposal. Whether you’re planning a simple moment for two or our photography only package, Four Mile Beach provides a stunning backdrop without needing much added to make it feel special.

Thala Beach Nature Reserve
For couples dreaming of a proposal surrounded by nature, Thala Beach Nature Reserve offers a truly special setting. Located on a private headland between Cairns and Port Douglas, this eco-friendly retreat is surrounded by tropical rainforest and overlooks the Coral Sea, creating a peaceful and romantic atmosphere for such an important moment.
One of the highlights is the secluded Oak Beach, where you can enjoy a private walk along the shoreline before finding the perfect spot to pop the question. With its golden sand, tropical surroundings and uninterrupted ocean views, the beach provides a naturally beautiful backdrop for an intimate proposal.

Little Cove
Tucked away in the heart of Port Douglas, Little Cove is a charming and intimate spot that feels wonderfully removed from the bustle of town. With its beautiful northerly outlook, pebbly shoreline and lush surrounds, it offers a naturally picturesque setting for a romantic ceremony or proposal.
One of the things that makes Little Cove so special is its simplicity. The setting is beautiful just as it is, with sweeping views and the Coral Sea creating a stunning backdrop without the need for elaborate styling. The pebbly beach also gives you that quintessential beachside feel, without quite as much of the sand that can come with a traditional beach setting.

The Details: Little Cove is available in two hour allotments for a hire fee of $150, so packages here will only be available to enjoy for 1 hour (unless you wish to extend the booking). Please note that food and drink is not permitted at Little Cove.
Sugar Wharf
What was once a pier for mooring ships and loading sugar is now a beautifully transformed into a charming event space, with its crisp whitewashed walls opening out to breathtaking views across the Coral Sea and towards the Daintree Mountains.
For a proposal, it offers something a little different. The historic character, waterfront setting and sweeping tropical views create a romantic backdrop that feels both relaxed and effortlessly elegant. Imagine arriving at the wharf together before finding a beautifully styled spot overlooking the water, with the mountains in the distance as you ask the big question.

The Details: Sugar Wharf has a rate of $800 for a two hour allotment (which would equate to 1 hour of use, and 1 hour of set up/pack down). As the venue prioritises larger events, we’re only able to make our bookings withing two weeks of the selected date (which is great if your planning a last minute proposal, but may cause some stress to people planning ahead).
